World Number 2 Adam Scott maybe the favourite for the BetEasy Masters but according to Stuart Appleby the Metropolitan Golf Club will the biggest threat.

"StuartSpeaking from the BetEasy Masters today, Appleby said that while Scott maybe the favourite, the course will be the real test this week.

"I think Adam would maybe say the same thing as me.  He knows the biggest opponent this week apart from his game and how it is, will be the golf course," said Appleby.

"The golf course has got teeth all over it everywhere.  Bunkers just dying to rip your ball into them and then leave you no shot to the pin."

Metropolitan Golf Club displays all those beautiful characteristics that Sandbelt golf is famous for all of which will be on display this week.

"I think you would be hard pushed to find anything better than this," said Appleby.

"The fairways are just magnificent.  I said to my caddy on the last today, I said they don’t even make carpet as uniform and as smooth as this."

"The best fairways in the world, no doubt.  I don’t think anyone would deny that."

"The bunkering, the shaping, the greens are perfect."

But more than just an immaculately conditions course, it’s a thinking man’s layout where every part of a player’s game is challenged.

"You don’t get lucky when you shoot under par around here," added Appleby.

"If you’re a little bit off, you will get slapped in the face."

"This is nothing like the U.S., this golf course.  It’s very penal.  If you’re a little bit off, you’re in trouble."

"So this is more Augusta in the tactile nature, you’ve got to get to the flags."

"I think the golf course will play as the biggest red shot favourite to destroy dreams of winning the Masters this week."
