While the PGA Tour of Australasia has already played seven tournaments in 2014 for more than $AU2.5 million the action is about to heat up as temperatures around the country rise. Western Australia is the next stop on Tour with players set to compete at the John Hughes Nexus Risk Services WA Open Championship from 16-18 October at Cottesloe Golf Club.Rookie Pro Oliver Goss

is set to play his first professional tournament on home soil when he tees it up at Cottesloe. As a former champion of the event he is keen to add his name to the trophy again. However standing in his way is defending champion from New Zealand Josh Geary as well as some of the stalwarts of the PGA Tour of Australasia; Peter Lonard, Peter O’Malley and Stephen Leaney. Along with some of the country’s leading amateurs such as Jarryd Felton, Todd Sinnott and Minwoo Lee (brother of Minjee) a mix of youth and experience is sure to delight fans at Cottesloe.

The PGA Tour of Australasia then moves to Lake Karrinyup Country Club from 23 – 26 October for the Perth International where we will be joined by the European Tour. Some of the biggest names in world golf will be making the trip to Perth including Ryder Cup stars Victor Dubuisson and Stephen Gallacher. They will be joined by South African Charl Schwartzel andAmerican Jason Dufner.Two of Australia’s winners on the PGA TOUR,

Geoff Ogilvyand Steve Bowditch will also join the field at the Perth International where Korean-born Melbourne-based Professional Jin Jeong is aiming to defend his title.

Completing the third leg of the Western Australian swing is the WA Goldfields PGA Championship being played at Kalgoorlie Golf Course from 30 October – 2 November. A unique course where the green fairways contrast with the red desert, Jack Wilson will be back to defend the title he won as a PGA Trainee in 2013. Other names to watch for in Kalgoorlie include Web.com Tour regulars James Nitties, Peter Lonard and Nathan Green. After a week’s break the Tour will then travel to Sydney and Stonecutters Ridge Golf Club for the NSW Open Championship to be played from 13-16 November. Web.com Tour player Aron Price will be back to defend the title he won in challenging weather conditions last year.

Also looking set to compete is David McKenzie who is in winning form, he has twice won on the PGA TOUR China this year. Heading to Melbourne,Adam Scottwill make his first appearance on the PGA Tour of Australasia this year when he plays the Australian Masters from 20-23 November at The Metropolitan Golf Club. Adam Scott is looking to create history as the first player to win the Australian Masters in three consecutive years. In 2013 he won by twoshots from Matt Kuchar while in 2012 he won by four shots from Ian Poulter. The Tour continues its road show of the country when it travels back to Sydney for the Emirates Australian Open at The Australian Golf Club from 27-30 November.

World Number 1 Rory McIlroyreturns to defend his title while World Number 2 Adam Scott will be looking to make up for last year. He lost the title by one shot to McIlroy on the 18th hole at Royal Sydney.American young gun Jordan Spieth

will make his debut on the PGA Tour of Australasia when he also tees up in Sydney. The NSW PGA Championship makes a return to the Tour after a year’s hiatus and will be played from the 4-7 December at the Riverside Oaks Golf Resort. Providing a great opportunity for the young players on Tour to secure their status expect to see some of the rising stars of Aussie golf teeing it up. Already committed to the event is NZ Open Champion Dimi Papadatos as well as Kiwi Mark Brown who last week fired animpressive 59on his home Tour. The Australian PGA Championship being played at RACV Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast from 11-14 December will provide a fitting finale to a huge season.
