The 2017 ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia season tees off this week at Huntingdale Golf Club with the Victorian PGA Championship.

The ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia will visit five countries in 2017 with a minimum of 17 tournaments being played for $9m dollars.

The Tour will attract some of the world’s best players to Australian shores as 2017 promises to deliver another exceptional year of golf.

The Victorian PGA Championship leads out the season, with 92 players teeing it up at Huntingdale Golf Club from 2-4 February.

Players will be joined on course by celebrities and amateur guests for the first two rounds, but with $100,000 up for grabs the champion will be decided on Super Saturday when rounds three and four are played in one day.

The Tour then heads to Barwon Heads and Thirteenth Beach Golf Links for the Oates Vic Open which has received an elevated status on the ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia meaning an increase in Official World Golf Ranking points.

This year the tournament boasts a prize purse of AUD$500,000 and, with the men being joined on course by the female Tour Professionals from the ALPG and LET, the men’s and women’s Oates Vic Open titles will be played concurrently and for equal prize money meaning a total of $1,000,000 up for grabs during the week.

While players from the ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia will then be flying to Western Australia, players from the European Tour and Asian Tour will be flying from all over the world to meet them for the ISPS HANDA World Super 6 Perth.

Being played at Lake Karrinyup Country Club from 16-19 February, a unique format which combines 54 holes of regular stroke play with six hole match play in the final round, the concept has captured the attention of the world with the tournament headlined by World Number 10 Alex Noren and South African Louis Oosthuizen.

A week’s break will see the players refreshed for the New Zealand swing of the ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia.

The Lawnmaster Horizon Golf NZ PGA Championship has found a new home at Manawatu Golf Club in Palmerston North with the tournament to be played from 2-5 March.

The Tour will then travel to the South Island for the ISPS HANDA New Zealand Open to be played at Millbrook Resort and The Hills.

Queenstown provides a beautiful destination, with the pro-am style tournament played across two courses for NZD$1million dollars – a favourite amongst the players.

City Golf Club has become a permanent fixture on the ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia and will once again play host to the Coca-Cola Queensland PGA Championship when it is played for $125,000 from 16-19 March.

Following a short break the ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia will visit its third country of the season when the South Pacific Export Radler Papua New Guinea Open is played at Royal Port Moresby Golf Club from 4-7 May for AUD$142,000.

Kalgoorlie Golf Course will then play host to the Tour Professionals when the TX Civil and Logistics WA PGA Championship is played from 18-21 May for AUD$110,000.

The European Tour and Asian Tour will rejoin the ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia for the second tri-sanctioned tournament of the season.

The Fiji International will be played from 17-20 August at Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course, which is currently undergoing a redevelopment.

Following the Fiji International the ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia will take a short hiatus before teeing off the second half of the season during the traditional Aussie summer of golf period.
