Starting at Eagle Ridge Golf Club on Monday for the Peter Stickley Vendor Advocacy Legends Pro-Am, the Professional field saw a number of Australia greats hit the fairways.

Included in the field was Ian Baker-Finch, winner of The Open at Royal Birkdale in 1991 and one of only four Australians to win one of the most iconic trophies in sport, the Claret Jug.

Several other well known Australian Professionals including former Alfred Dunhill Cup winner and US PGA Champions Tour winner, Rodger Davis, Australian PGA Championship and European Tour winner, Mike Harwood, and former PGA Tour of Australasia winner, Michael Clayton, joined a field of 150 Professionals and amateurs to negotiate the stunning Eagle Ridge layout.

With creditable performances by Rodger Davis and Ian Baker-Finch, who fired 69 and 70 respectively, it was European Tour and PGA Tour of Australasia winner, Peter Fowler, who proved victorious firing a 5-under 67, to win by one shot over Mike Harwood.

One day earlier Fowler finished T7 at the BMW New Zealand Open, firing six birdies in the final round to finish his New Zealand campaign on 15-under.

"Eagle Ridge is an outstanding facility, the course was in wonderful condition and I am looking forward to returning next year," said Fowler.

Eagle Ridge Golf Club was delighted to have such a high calibre of Australian legends in attendance and the opportunity it offered the golf community.

"Having the legends of Australian golf playing on the Peninsula and allowing members and guests to get up close and interact with these household names is an experience that we will never forget," said Eagle Ridge General Manager, Wayne Lucas.

Professionals were presented with tough and windy conditions on Tuesday for the Victorian Senior Foursomes Championship at St Andrews Beach Golf Course.

The Tom Doak designed course tested the skills of a field that read like a tour event from the 1980s, with honours going to Glen Joyner and Mike Harwood who tied with Terry Price and Tim Elliott on an even par 72.

Former Australian Open winner, Bob Shearer, added to the field on Wednesday at Portsea Golf Club for the Portsea Legends Pro-Am.

With the combination of tricky conditions and fast greens scoring was difficult, even for a quality field, with only two Professionals breaking par.

Mike Harwood led the way with 3-under 68 while 2013 Legend Tour Order of Merit winner, David Merriman, lingered two shots back firing 1-under 70.

Feedback from the clubs and the amateurs taking part in the E-Z-GO PGA Legends Tour was exceptional.

Further, the significant economic benefits tournaments such as these bring to the region with many competitors travelling from either interstate or overseas.
