The 2016 E-Z-GO PGA Legends Tour kicks off this week with over $120,000 worth of prize money up for grabs across four first class Sydney venues.

""Marking one of the most lucrative weeks of the season, the year begins with the FUSO Trucks Cromer Legends Pro-Am on Tuesday followed by the inaugural Pymble Legends Pro-Am on Wednesday, worth $20,000.

Rodger Davis, 2015 Australian Senior PGA Champion, PGA Life Member and honorary member at Pymble, will be a favorite among one of the best fields ever assembled on the E-Z-GO PGA Legends Tour.

"The week is certainly one of the very best we will have all year and it’s amazing to see the support from all these clubs," said Davis, who played as an amateur representing Pymble.

"Our circuit continues to grow and it’s a very special feeling to be able to play at Pymble and also Killara which host the richest one-day event on our circuit and in honour of David Mercer who was my coach for over 40 years, it’s a very special occasion for me," added Davis.

The annual David Mercer Senior Classic Pro-Am will be held on Thursday at Killara Golf Club and the tournament host will once again be on hand to greet his fellow legends of the game.

Head Professional and tournament organizer, Greg Hohnen, is proud of what the club has been able to achieve for the event and says it’s a highlight of the E-Z-GO PGA Legends Tour schedule.

Defending champions Simon Jagot and Lyndsay Stephen will be in the mix along with 2015 Order of Merit winner and European Senior Tour member, Mike Harwood, who will once again be a red hot favourite.

The final event of the week will wrap up with the Penrith Legends Pro-Am on Friday 22nd, a newly created event that will cap off a sensational week of golf in Sydney.

Other marquee players competing during the week include Peter Fowler, Peter O’Malley and Terry Price.

With approximately $1.4 million in prize money on offer throughout the 2016 season, the E-Z-GO PGA Legends Tour continues to grow as one of the most popular Professional Tours in the world with players from all over the globe making the journey Down Under to compete against the best from Australia and New Zealand.
