Former European Tour and PGA Tour of Australasia Professional Mike Harwood has had a stellar season on the E-Z-GO PGA Legends Tour and has put himself in good stead to gain a start on the Champions Tour, with the chance to tee it up at the Insperity Invitational in May 2016.

The Victorian’s win in October at the NSW/ACT PGA Seniors Championship brought his tally up to 11 wins from 40 starts for the season. His form has also seen him rise to the top of the E-Z-GO PGA Legends Tour Order of Merit, leading fellow Victorian Tim Elliot and New South Welshman David Merriman.

If Harwood’s form continues and he maintains his position on top of the E-Z-GO PGA Legends Tour Order of Merit, he will have the opportunity to tee it up on the Champions Tour and the opportunity to play alongside the likes of Bernhard Langer, Fred Couples, Mark O’Meara, Vijay Singh and Miguel Angel Jimenez

The E-Z-GO PGA Legends Tour Order of Merit winner receives a start on the Champions Tour, thanks to their exemption categories for the Australian senior tour.

The Champions Tour, which is run by the PGA TOUR, hosts a series of tournaments annually in the United States and the United Kingdom for those on the over 50s circuit and many of whom have been the PGA TOUR’S most successful golfers.

A number of Australian Professionals have played on the Champions Tour in recent years including David Merriman, Tim Elliott, Peter Senior, Steve Elkington and Peter Fowler.
