""Queensland’s Brad Burns saved his best round for the second and final day, shooting a tournament low 5-under par 67 to street away from the overnight leaders and claim the winner’s cheque with a 7-under par tournament total.

Showers throughout the morning during round two didn’t do anything to deter Burns who got off to a fast start, making four birdies on his front-9 combined with one birdie on his inward nine to complete his bogey-free 67.

The big hitting Queenslander was very complimentary of the course.

“These are some of the best greens we have putted on all year," Burns said.

“I would play here all the time if I could, I just love the place and the club should be very proud of the quality golf course they have here in Batemans Bay.”

This marks Burns’ fourth win of the year on the Ladbrokes PGA Legends Tour and promotes him back to the top of the Order of Merit standings.

Overnight co-leader Greg Carroll finished in a tie for second place at 3-under par following an even par 72 in rpund two. He was joined by New South Welshman Robert Willis who shot consistent rounds of 70 and 71 to secure his best finish on the Tour to date.

In a rare event at a tournament, two professionals scored hole-in-one’s with Victoria’s Bryan Wearne aceing the 7th hole (his final hole of the day in round one), while the great Peter Senior also added a ‘1’ to his scorecard on the 11th hole on Thursday.

Players will now enjoy a few days rest before converging on the Murray River region for the $100,000 NSW Senior Open at Thurgoona Country Club.
