A star studded field will again contest the richest single day event on the Australian PGA Legends calendar, the David Mercer Senior Classic.

A star studded field will again contest the richest single day event on the Australian PGA Legends calendar, the David Mercer Senior Classic.

""Played at the prestigious Killara Golf Club in Sydney’s north,  58 Legends Players will do battle for $70,000 in prize money and the trophy in honour of PGA and Killara Golf Club Life Member David Mercer.

Highlighting the field is Peter Senior, winner of 23 events in Australasia, along with major winners Ian Baker Finch and Wayne Grady.

In total, the star studded line-up has over 80 tournament victories worldwide.

David Mercer has been involved with the Killara Golf Club for an incredible 65 years were he has life membership. At the club he served as the Head Professional for 42 years.

David has been a member of the Australian PGA for 64 years and is a life member. There is no doubt David is a legend of our industry and it is only fitting that Killara name their tournament after him.

“It’s fantastic to see so many of Australia’s great players coming together again to compete. I grew up watching many of these guys in their hay day so I’m very excited to be part of this event.” said Peter Welden, PGA NSW/ACT Tournament Coordinator.

The David Mercer Senior Classic is sure to be a memorable event with some of the best golfers Australia has every produced on show.
