""New South Welshman Steven Aisbett took advantage of the softer morning conditions to set the clubhouse lead with an impressive 3-under Par 68.

Starting on the 1st Hole, Aisbett made the turn at 2-under par with a bogey free front-9. A double bogey on the par 3 11th hole threatened to derail the round however he bounced back quickly with birdies on three of his final six holes to post a solid score.

When asked about his round Aisbett stated “I managed to birdie three of the four par 5’s today which really helped my round. This course requires many different types of shots.

"It was fun to be challenged with hitting soft fades and draws into the greens and I was fortunate to have slightly softer greens with the early start. Bankstown have some of the best greens in Sydney and it was a treat to putt on them today."

Tim Elliott showed why he sits atop the current Ladbrokes Legends Tour Order of Merit, firing a 1-under par 70 in the breezy afternoon conditions to finish outright second.

A further shot back at even par 71 were Glenn Joyner and John Onions, while David Hando and Brad Burns rounded out the top-5 with 1-over par 72’s.

The Ladbrokes PGA Legends Tour will make its way down to the picturesque South Coast of New South Wales for the next ten days with players now on course in the St Georges Basin Tooheys Legends Pro-Am.
