Peter Fowler and Mike Harwood are primed for a big finish to the European Senior Tour season in Mauritius this week.
Fowler, the leading Australian on the Order of Merit for each of the past five years, is once again in prime position to claim top Australian honours with a nearly €45,000 lead over Harwood.
At fourth on the standings, Fowler could feasibly move to third with a victory at the MCB Tour Championship this week though trails second placed Magnus Atlevi by more than €75,000, more than the winner's share this week.
Harwood currently sits 13th in the standings after what has been a good year in Europe.
Back to back top-5 finishes in August, including a runner-up result at the Willow Senior Golf Classic in England, contributed significantly to his €89,010 in earnings, his most lucrative year since 2013.
Harwood has a best finish of T8 at this event, that result coming in 2010, while Fowler was T2 in 2011 to go with two other top-10s in six starts.
The MCB Tour Championship is the final event of the year for the European Seniors.
