The Royal Port Moresby Golf Club has proved to be a difficult proposition for many players in past years, but the inform Mueck has somewhat tamed the challenging layout over his opening two rounds.

"Last year’s Open has no doubt assisted me with the way I go about playing the Royal Port Moresby Golf Club, with a number of holes requiring you to be in the fairway to set up a good approach to the green," said Mueck.

"Although my confidence is high at the moment, the putts are still going to need to fall over the weekend if I am going to give myself a chance of lifting the trophy come Sunday."
