Scott Barr has produced his best golf of a limited 2017 schedule to take top Australian honours at the Asian Tour’s TAKE Solutions Masters in India.
Barr lost full playing rights on the Asian circuit at the end of 2016 and was unable to regain them after withdrawing from the Qualifying School through three rounds earlier this year.
As a consequence, he has only limited opportunities to tee up in 2017 but made the most of his chance this week with a T16 finish, the best of the four Australians in the field.
Barr signed for rounds of 68-73-69-69 on his way to a 5-under total and a cheque for US$3,712.50 to move to 78th on the Order of Merit and within reach of the top 60 who will earn cards for 2018.
Three back nine birdies on Sunday moved Terry Pilkadaris up the standings to T29 at 3-under for the week, Marcus Both four strokes further back and in a share of 41st place.
After three consecutive missed cuts in Asia, Myanmar Open winner Todd Sinnott opened with a 3-under 68 and qualified for the weekend despite a second round 75.
Weekend scores of 73-71 saw him finish in a share of 48th, the last of the Australians to play the weekend with Khunal Basin missing the cut.
