New South Wales PGA Professional David Stretton has been elected by his peers to represent them on the PGA’s Board of Directors.

The
PGA of Australia is pleased to welcome Stretton to its Board after being
elected at the PGA’s Annual General Meeting held at Royal Melbourne Golf Club
on Monday night.

Stretton, who has been a long time Chairman on the New South
Wales State Committee, was thrilled to be voted in by the PGA Membership.

"Thank
you to all the Members who took the time to vote and supported my appointment
as the new Vocational Director," said Stretton.

"I’m
honoured to accept this position and work as your representative. I’m here to
represent all Vocational Members and will always do my best to put your needs
as mine."

"I’m
a proud PGA Member just like you and look forward to the new challenges ahead
and I really appreciate the confidence you all have in me."

Stretton
replaces outgoing Director Len Beck who has filled a casual vacancy on the
Board since 2014.

Brian Thorburn, Chief Executive Officer of the PGA, extended his congratulations to Stretton and thanked Beck for his efforts during his time on the Board.

"I warmly welcome David to the position of Vocational Director and sincerely thank Len for his terrific contribution to the Board and the Association throughout his tenure." said Thorburn.

Stretton
has a long history representing his fellow PGA Professionals. He has been on
the NSW/ACT Vocational Committee since 2007 and was elected the Chairman in
2009. A role he continues to fulfil.

The
evening also saw four PGA Professionals awarded Life Membership of the PGA with
Randall Vines, Mark Duder, David Graham and William Husband all elevated to
Life Membership status.
