The achievements of the South Australian Golf Industry were celebrated on Saturday night at the South Australian Golf Industry Awards Night.

"SouthHeld at the Adelaide Oval, around 200 golfing representatives from around the state attended.

Current Men’s Captain at Mt Osmond Golf Club,Ben Hook, preceded over the evening as Master of Ceremonies.

Highlights of the evening included:

  • Peter Ormsby presented with Life Membership
  • Ian Prichard announced as PGA Professional of the Year
  • Daniel Blackwell presented with Teaching Professional of the Year award

In addition, the South Australian Golf industry also inducted Bob Stevens as a new member into the Golf Hall of Fame and voted in by representatives of the four organising bodies, Golf South Australia (Golf SA),PGA of Australia (PGA), Golf Management Australia (GMA) and the Australian Golf Course Superintendents Association (AGCSA).

Bob joins fellow inductees, Bay HC McDonald,Peter Howard, Pauline Sanderson, Dr David Cherry, Rhonda Watson OAM, MurrayCrafter, John Crosby OAM, Jane Crafter and Bob Tuohy.

In total 21 trophies were presented as part ofthe South Australia Industry Awards Night, which covered industry specific awards from the PGA, GMA, and SAGCSA, as well as awards for volunteer contributions to the game from both Metropolitan and Country areas.

Special guests included Ladies European Tour Player and Member of Royal Adelaide and The Grange Golf Club, Stephanie Na.

Na gave the audience a great insight into her life, firstly as Australia’s top Amateur in 2007/08 then as a Tour Professional.
