Wilson Does it Again

Peter Wilson has won his second Pro-Am in a week and taken out the two day $40,000 Penfold Motors Box Hill Pro-Am.

Wilson who won the Betstar Melbourne Golf Invitational on Monday at Woodlands Golf Club and took home $9,000 for his work, cashed in again with another $7,000 at today’s event. It caps a fine month of form for Wilson who has also been in contention in a couple of tour events.

“I played great today in what were pretty tough conditions. Not a lot was happening early but I finished great with six birdies in my last 10 holes and in the end I needed to,” Wilson said.

Tschudin was pretty solid throughout the day but will rue a double seven on his 12th hole, he did however recover with birdies on his closing two holes but with Wilson also doing the same, the damage was done.

“It didn’t quite feel as good as yesterday but in saying that, it was certainly a lot tougher out there today. Peter obviously played great to shoot 65 in those conditions and credit to him. It would have been great to win here where it all started for me when I was a junior but I will need to wait another year,” Tschudin said.

Another highlight of what was a great event was the hole in one yesterday by young Andrew Smith on the sixth hole. Andrew won a $50,000 car from Penfold Motors which is certainly an unbelievable prize for a young man trying to make his way in the game.

“I can’t believe it went in and on the sixth hole of all holes with such a great prize up for grabs. I really need to thank Penfold Motors and the Box Hill Golf Club for their continued support of the Pro-Am Circuit and for putting up a prize that I could never dream of winning,” Smith said.

The Penfold Motors Box Hill Pro-Am brings to an end a big two weeks on the Victorian Pro-Am Circuit with over $280,000 in cash and prizes going off. The next event on the circuit will be the Swisse Portsea Pro-Am on January 2nd, 2012.
