The Victorian PGA Championship is one of the longest running professional golf events on the Victorian calendar and forms part of the PGA Tour of Australasia.

The Victorian PGA Championship is one of the longest running professional golf events on the Victorian calendar and boasts past champions the calibre of Kel Nagle, Peter Thomson, Bruce Devlin and six time winner Jack Harris as well as more recent champions Mike Harwood, Peter Senior, Stuart Appleby, Marc Leishman, Cameron Percy and last year’s winner Andre Stolz.

The 2010 Cellarbrations Victorian PGA Championship will be played over 72 holes on the North course at Sandhurst. The course was designed by one of Australia's greatest ever golfers, Peter Thomson and world-renowned design team, Thomson & Perrett.

Emphasizing strategic shot making and providing a searching test of golfers short game skills, the open styled North Course features large sprawling greens, where getting to the putting surface is just the start of the challenge.

Who is in this week's field?

Defending champion Andre Stolz will lead the race to claim the final trophy on offer during the PGA Tour of Australasia’s summer season.

Stolz, who claimed the Cellarbrations Victorian PGA Championship title by two shots at Sanctuary Lakes in 2009, will lead an impressive field at Sandhurst Golf Club which this week hosts a PGA Tour of Australasia event for the very first time.

Among the players headlining the Cellarbrations Victorian PGA Championship is New Zealander David Smail, who this week holds the mantle as the highest ranked player in the field.

Leading the charge for the locals are 2009 Moonah Classic Champion Alistair Presnell, 2010 Subaru Victorian Open Champion Jason Norris and the former Victorian PGA Champion Ashley Hall.

Joining the talented trio of Victorians are recent state-based event winners Michael Curtain (2009 WA Open Champion), Andrew Bonhomme (2009 WA PGA Champion), Steven Bowditch (2009 QLD PGA Champion), Aaron Townsend (2009 NSW PGA Champion) and Leigh McKechnie (2009 NSW Open Champion.)

They will be joined by the impressive likes of up and comers Mitchell Brown, Matthew Griffin, Kurt Barnes and Steve Jones as well as seasoned tour campaigners Terry Price, Mike Clayton and Mike Harwood.
