Pilkadaris extends lead
Friday, 21 September 2012
Victorian Terry Pilkadaris has extended his lead in the SIFA Samoa Open after firing a six-under par round of 66 in the second round. Through two rounds Pilkadaris sits an impressive fifteen under par and four shots clear of local amateur Pulou Faaaliga.
Pilkadaris made an outstanding start to his round with three birdies and an eagle in his opening five holes and continued to extend through the round despite three bogeys.
The Samoan heat and humidity seemed to take its toll on the Australian and New Zealand Professionals with even Pilkadaris after his outstanding round, walking off the course exhausted.
One player not feeling the heat is amateur Pulou Faaaliga who backed up his opening round of eight under par with a second round three under par to sit in outright second position.
Defending Champion Peter Wilson is still in contention after rounds of 69 and 68 however will have to pick up eight shots on the leader if he is to win the Open back to back
The leading group of Pilakdaris, Faaaliga, Scott and Millar will tee off at midday tomorrow.
