Elliot latest Aussie on Senior Tour
Friday, 3 February 2012
After four rounds of golf in Portugal for the European Senior Tour Qualifying School Tim Elliot has become the latest Australian to earn status on the tour.
With the top six in the field earning full status on to the European Seniors Tour it was an important week of golf for the 72 players in the field.
Rounds of 68,72,72,71 saw Elliot finish just one shot outside of the elusive top six in a tie for seventh earning himself conditional status on the tour for this year.
Elliot was the only Australian to make it through qualifying school this year after Kym Olsen, the only other Aussie in the field, unfortunately missed out.
Canadian Ken Tarling, E-Z-GO PGA Legends Tour Order of Merit winner here in Australia, also qualified for conditional status on the European Legends Tour with rounds of 73, 71, 68, 74.
Tim Elliot will join fellow Aussies Peter Fowler, Mike Harwood, David Merriman and Rodger Davis playing regularly playing on the European Seniors Tour in 2012.
