Senior a perennial contender

On the US Champions Tour perennial contender Peter Senior was in contention again registering a third place finish at the Encompass Insurance Pro-Am of Tampa Bay in Florida.
Senior finished five shots behind winner Michael Allen after carding rounds of 67-72-67 at the TPC Tampa Bay.
52-year-old Senior has been one of the most consistent performers on the Champions Tour since gaining his card last year and posting 12 top 10 finishes from 22 starts.
He has started 2012 in a similar vein with three top 10 results in five starts.
The three time Australian PGA champion currently stands in 5th position on the season long Charles Schwab Cup points table and will be looking to post his first victory at this week's Liberty Mutual Insurance Legends of Golf event in Georgia.
