Piranha Golf will continue their involvement with the development of Australian golf as the naming rights sponsor of the NSW/ACT Pro-Am Order of Merit.

Extending on their involvement from 2011, the renewed agreement will see Piranha Golf associated with the NSW/ACT series for the next three years.

“We are delighted with the opportunity to continue to work with Piranha Golf and grow the NSW/ACT Pro-Am series,” said David Barker, Executive Officer of the NSW/ACT PGA.

“Over the last couple of years we have identified a number of growth opportunities for the circuit and the ongoing support of Piranha Golf goes a long way to making such possibilities a reality.”

As part of the agreement Piranha Golf will again offer a bonus prize for the final Order of Merit champion.

In 2011 Piranha Golf offered a $10,000 bonus, eventually won by Martin Dive.

“The NSW/ACT Pro-Am circuit continues to provide a pathway for Tournament Professionals looking to develop their playing careers. The circuit is an integral component of the PGA’s tournament strategy and with the ongoing support of Piranha Golf we hope to provide even more playing opportunities,” added Barker.

2012 marks the 17th year that Piranha Golf has been in operation.

With a sales presence now across 20 countries, Piranha says it’s time to grow its support for the local golf community through the Pro-Am platform.

“The NSW/ACT Pro-Am circuit provides us with a unique opportunity to reach not only the Pros but the amateur golfers and we are looking forward to working with the PGA again this year to build our brand,” said Antonio Gelenesi, Chairman of Piranha Golf.

Only this January Piranha Golf appointed its first staff Tour Player, former US Open Champion Michael Campbell.

Through this arrangement Piranha Golf also intend to extend their brand through player sponsorships to assist up-and-coming Professionals with expenses related to life on Tour.

The partnership will also involve special promotions and prize give-aways to amateur players participating in the NSW/ACT tournaments.

In 2011 the NSW/ACT Pro-Am circuit encompassed over 50 events with a total of $850,000 in prizemoney on offer.

The series is again underway for 2012 with Matthew Millar currently leading the Piranha Golf Order of Merit with just over $14,000 in earnings to date.
