Wednesday, 17 October 2012

The Piranha Golf NSW / ACT OOM is heating up with only six Pro-Am events remaining.

It is a duel between the Division’s two leading players with Canberra’s Matthew Millar holding a twenty-three point lead over Wollongong’s Brad McIntosh

Both players have been intensely contesting each event and with the lucrative Piranha OOM bonus up for grabs, the Newcastle swing in the final week should prove very exciting. The Order of Merit will conclude with the $20,000 Noraville Earthmovers Morisset Pro-Am on October 27-28 and will McIntosh’s last chance to reign in the consistent Millar.

Millar has been in stellar form the entire year recording six pro-am victories and twenty-three top ten finishes from his 38 rounds including victory in the IC Frith Castle Hill Pro-Am.

NSW/ACT PGA Executive Officer David Barker explained the importance of the title.

“ The Piranha Golf Order of Merit is a prestigious title in its own right but when you add on the considerable financial gain through the prize money bonus, it can really set-up a player for the summer and fund future international competitions.”

Piranha Golf's Chairman , Antonio Gelonesi is delighted to be helping in the development of up and coming Australian professional Golfers.

“ With Piranha Golf now being represented on international tours , and selling in 20 countries, it is very important to Piranha Golf to provide sustainable support to the grass roots of emerging local players and respect our role as an Australian Golfing Company. We are very proud to be associated with PGA and encourage all other Australian Golf companies to support and grow the tour.”

The winner of the Piranha Golf Order of Merit will receive in excess of $15,000 in additional prize money through the Piranha Bonus and percentage of overall prize money.
