Royal Pines Resort is proud to host the Hi-Lite Pro-Am in its 20th Anniversary year from the 5th – 6th October 2012.
Having been staged at Royal Pines Resort every year since 1992 the Hi-Lite Pro-Am has a rich history of hosting some of Australia’s best up and coming Tour Professionals.
Past winners have included eight time PGA Tour of Australasia winner and recent European Seniors Tour winner Terry Price (1996), 2011 NSW Open champion Adam Crawford (1998), two time Asian Tour winner Scott Hend (1999) and more recently Ashley Hall (2007) who competed in his first major this year when he teed it up in The Open Championship.
“The Hi-Lite Pro-Am has always enjoyed the support of Australia’s top up and coming Tour Professionals and in turn we have seen these pros go on to be successful on some of the best international tours,” said Ryan.
This year is sure to be another outstanding success for the Hi-Lite Pro-Am with $50,000 in prizemoney attracting a strong field including former Web.com Tour player Adam Bland, 2011 NSW PGA champion Matthew Guyatt and current Order of Merit leader Grant Scott.
Adding to the spirit of the 20th Anniversary celebrations is a 1920’s theme for the tournament with players encouraged to dress in costume, while the evening dinner entertainment will be based on the 1920’s era.
“Personally it is very satisfying to see the Hi-Lite Pro-Am in its 20th year.”
“Over the years it has taken a lot of hard work and dedication to see the tournament grow to where it is today and I can’t wait to celebrate this milestone.”
Growing each year since its inception the Hi-Lite Pro-Am has found the perfect venue in Royal Pines Resort.
“Having a venue like Royal Pines Resort ensures that we easily attract the best players as they all love to play on good quality courses.”
“But it more than just the course, it’s all the other amenities and outstanding service that makes Royal Pines Resort the perfect location for a pro-am,” added Ryan, whose company also stages the Jeep Pro-Am Series which culminates with a National Final to be staged at Royal Pines Resort.
Always looking to give back to the community this year the Hi-Lite Pro-Am will support A Brighter Future, a charity which aims to improve the quality of life for children with cerebral palsy.
A Brighter Future supports families by providing equipment including beach wheelchairs and Gamma and Gravity chairs (supportive seating).
A Brighter Future also provides support for families by way of therapy to enable children’s bodies to grow well and avoid musculoskeletal deformities.
The team from the Hi-Lite Pro-Am is pleased to announce that to date 20 individuals have donated specialty wheelchairs to support A Brighter Future families and those donors will be presented on the night.
