Defending Champion Nick Gillespie
Defending Champion Nick Gillespie has made a stellar start to the Vanuatu Golf Open recording a seven under par opening round 65 to hold a two shot lead.
“I don’t know what it is but I seem to play well here” said Gillespie after his round.
Gillespie, from New Zealand, carded eight birdies and a single bogey to hold off last year’s Tour School graduate Adam Stephens, who fired a five under par 67.
A further shot back on four under par 68 is regular visitor and multiple winner of the Vanuatu Golf Open Brad McIntosh.
The Tusker Vanuatu Golf Open is part of the Piranha Golf NSW/ACT OOM and with the current leader Matt Millar not able to play this week, second place Brad McIntosh will be looking to make up some valuable points over the four days.
