Australians chase Senior Open glory
Tuesday, 24 July 2012
There will be 12 Australians chasing Major glory again this week when the world's best over 50's gather for the Senior Open at Turnberry. The Australian charge will be led by 1986 Open champion at Turnberry, Greg Norman, as well as our likely best chances Peter Senior and Peter Fowler.
They will be joined by Rodger Davis, Graham Banister, Darren Cole, David Merriman, Anthony Gilligan, Tim Elliott, Mike Harwood, Noel Ratcliffe and Wayne Grady. Defending champion Russ Cochran has been forced to withdraw with a back injury but most of the focus is on England's Graham Chapman who has won the year's first two US Senior Majors.
