Aussies set for Pebble Beach

The three top Australian hopes -- Adam Scott, Robert Allenby and Geoff Ogilvy will tee off together for the opening two rounds of this week's US Open at Pebble Beach Links in California.
It is the first time in modern history that three Australians will play together in a world major. In all 12 Australasian PGA Tour members – Scott, Ogilvy, Allenby, Stuart Appleby, Aaron Baddeley, Paul Sheehan, Stephen Allan, Terry Pilkadaris, Marc Leishman, Michael Campbell, Michael Sim and John Senden have qualified for the US Open.
Sheehan, who qualified in Asia, will be in the first group on the first tee at 7am and Allan, who qualified in the US, will head off the field from the 10th tee.
The US Golf Association organisers have lined up several star-packed trios for the first two rounds with world number one Tiger Woods to play with former winner Ernie Els and world number three Lee Westwood of England, who won the weekend’s St Jude Classic.
Another hot group will be Japan’s teenage sensation Ryo Ishikawa playing with Northern Ireland’s super talented 21-year-old Rory McIlroy and the legendary evergreen Tom Watson.
