AUSTRALIA will have a record 10 starters in the US Tour’s next Fedex Cup playoff event – this week’s $8.25 million BMW Championship.

Only two Aussies – Steve Elkington (who finished 92 on the points table) and Aaron Baddeley (94) -- missed making the top 70 pointscorers following the Deutsche Bank Championship yesterday.

Six of the 10 surviving Australians improved their points standing – Jason Day (up from 14 to 3) Geoff Ogilvy (52 to 9) Adam Scott (19 to 15) John Senden (64 to 38) Michael Sim (66 to 53) and Matt Jones (70 to 64)

With four slipping back – Robert Allenby (24 to 27) Stuart Appleby (36 to 43) Marc Leishman (48 to 57) and Greg Chalmers (61 to 62).

Day, Ogilvy and Scott already look certain to make the top 30 and so qualify for the $10 million finale the US PGA Tour Championship.
