Womens Holden Scramble

The Women’s Holden Scramble is a separate section of the event using a modified format to suit women golfers and is in addition to, and separate from, the existing Holden Scramble in which women can still compete.

Introduced in 2005, the separate section was designed to encourage more women to compete in the event and experience the exciting team format of ambrose golf.

Last year the Women’s Holden Scramble celebrated its five year anniversary with nearly two and a half thousand ladies teeing it up in 44 events across the country. Last year also saw another milestone with the 10,000th participant competing in the Women’s Holden Scramble at Federal Golf Club in August.

This year Callaway have shown further support for Women’s Holden Scramble by providing special women’s prize packs featuring Callaway stand-bags, diamante wristlet bags and ladies visors.

The Women’s Holden Scramble continues to grow every year and with more new clubs jumping on board this year, 2010 bodes to be its biggest year yet.

Specific Rules for the Women’s Holden Scramble
The Women’s Holden Scramble runs under the same rules, format and policies as the mixed Holden Scramble {link to Holden Scramble Rules, Policies and Eligibility} however with a few minor adjustments to cater for women golfers as outlined below.

i. The four team members’ aggregate handicap must total at least 32 and not exceed 132

ii. A Women’s State Final will be held in each state, with the qualifying teams from SA, VIC and TAS combining to form one Southern State Final. Winning teams from each State or Sectional State Final will progress to the Championship Final.

iii. There must be a minimum of 36 women participants (9 teams) at a local event in order to qualify a team through to the Regional / State Final.
