China wins international friendly

After two rounds at the magnificent Tycoon Golf Club, Shenzhen, it was the China Golf Club League who were victorious to take the series two-nil from the Aussies.
The result however, feels to be lost amongst the experience that team Australia have had and on that note it is hard to feel too disappointed with the loss.
Day two of the golf tournament saw the Aussies take a 24 shot lead onto the course, after the unique stroke best ball format seemed to suit the Aussie players.
On the second round, there were certainly some notable efforts in the single stroke format, with Adam Best from Laidley shooting a 60 net, with fellow Laidley player Ron Goltz and Cromer’s Beverley Fagan also shooting net scores in the 60’s.
It was clear however that Team China would not go down without a fight as their players rallied to put together very consistent rounds with their scores ranging from 65 to 77 net.
Their best player on the day, Ki Am Lee shot a 2 under par round of 70 (65 net) to lead the way.
So after the two rounds, 24 players were only ten shots apart with the Chinese team taking victory by 10 shots.
Although Team Australia did not bring home the trophy, the event has been one of the most memorable experiences for all involved.
There is much to look forward to for the China Golf Club League and Holden Scramble in the future!
