Northbridge starts the Women’s season in style
Thursday, 1 April 2010
The first women’s Holden Scramble of 2010 was held at Northbridge Golf Club last week with a great day put on for the ladies, thanks to the strong support of Hunter Holden St Leonards.
The team of Kim McGlinn, Marian Otten, Sue Campbell and daughter, Lizzie, held off an 80-strong field to be the first team to qualify to the Women's State Finals in October. With a handicap of 9.25, the ladies went round the par-64 course in 60 giving them a winning net score of 50 1/8.
Northbridge Golf Club and Hunter Holden St Leonards have built a strong relationship, working together for over 15 years to put on successful Holden Scramble events. After running huge mixed Holden Scrambles since 1995 and attracting nearly 200 participants each year, they then joined forces again and started running successful Women’s Holden Scramble as well. In its fifth successive year, Northbridge and Hunter Holden St Leonards clearly have a winning formula as participants come from near and afar to compete in the Northbridge Scrambles that average just under 100 ladies each year.
Ray McGlinn, Head professional at Northbridge and Husband to one of the winning members makes special mention of the hard work that Kathie Hulls and her team from Hunter Holden St Leonards put in each year. “They’re excellent. They’ve been with us for about 15 years now and they know exactly what to do and they love it.”
