Winning dealerships were picked in each state for their sponsorship of local Holden Scramble events.
As a reward for the Holden Dealership who sponsor Holden Scramble local events in 2012, one lucky Dealership who has won Dealership on the month throughout the 2012 season will win two return airfares to the USA courtesy of our support sponsor Delta Air Lines.

Edwards Holden has been supporting the Holden Scramble for over 20 years now. The dealership sponsors between 4 to 6 events every year. Graham Broad says “the players enjoy the comradeship on the day and the Regional and National Finals are well worth winning through to.”
NSW – Kelly Holden
Sponsored the Morisset, Sugar Valley and Waratah Holden Scrambles in September, 2012.
Kelly Holden currently sponsors 8 events in NSW. Steve Donohue from Kelly Holden says “The Holden Scramble is a really good event to be associated with and when you drive into the car park of the local golf club and see a lot of Holden cars, it has to a good thing.”

Sponsored the Mowbray, Riverside and Prospect Vale Holden Scrambles in September, 2012
Motors Launceston sponsor 4 events in Tasmania and have a great association with the Golf Pro’s from each Club. The dealership brands their events with car displays and signage around the course. Redding Motors takes a hands on approach when promoting the Holden Scramble’s that they sponsor. They advertise the events in the local papers and email Club members promoting the event. On the event day they assist in the presentations with speeches and handing out all the prizes.

Since opening its doors back in 2002, Barry Bourke Warragul has supported the Holden Scramble. Gibbon’s Holden have been involved with the Holden Scramble for over sixteen years. Gibbon’s Holden currently sponsors two events including Gosnell’s Golf Club and Araluen Golf Club Holden Scrambles. The dealership provides nearest to pin prizes and car displays on the day. Dealer Principal, Jeremy Schoolland says he continues to sponsor the local events because it’s a great networking opportunity for the dealership.
NSW – Muirs Motors

Des Harvey is the General Manager of Muirs Motors and is a big fan of the Holden Scramble. The dealership has sponsored events for the past fifteen years. Des, who has actually been part of the Championship Final, says “It’s a great chance for players to represent their Club at the Championship Final in Queensland. I’ve been there for a final series and it’s absolutely fantastic to play 18 holes of golf with a touring golf professional, it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity.”

Dutton’s Motors have worked closely with the Murray Bridge Golf Club to grow their Holden Scramble event every year. Dutton Motors and the Golf Club get together a few months prior to the event every year to pick a number of competitors to aim for and an advertising strategy. It had worked well for both as the event has grown steadily over the past few years. Jack Daniels, Dealer Principal says “My favourite thing is to see the same people come back and play every year, that’s what it’s all about.”

Motorama Holden’s origins started in Beenleigh in 1960 with its first Holden Dealership, now it’s a business that is entrenched in the Springwood and Logan areas. Motorama Holden has a long standing and proud association with the Holden Scramble. Motorama get behind the event with sponsorship, car display and giveaways. This year Booran Holden sponsored the Woodlands and Rossdale Golf Club Holden Scramble events. On the day the dealership provide a BBQ for all the competitors on the day as well as car displays at the Golf Club and information regarding the dealership. Lewis Motors have been sponsoring Holden Scramble events for nine years now. They sponsor three events in their area including Northam, York and Goomalling Golf Clubs. Lewis Motors help their Holden Scramble Golf Club’s by contacting local Golf Committees, advertising the event online and on other Clubs websites. Ian Lewis, Dealer Principal said “The event gives the dealership the ability to network within a relaxed atmosphere.”

Llewellyn Motors and Buhse Motors have been sponsoring Holden Scrambles since the event began. The dealerships combined sponsor six events in Queensland. They show their presence on the event day through car displays, gift bags for players, supplying banners and being involved in the presentation after the event. The dealerships continue to sponsor events every year because it allows them to gather consumer feedback as well as being involved with a community event.

McRae Motors has been involved with the Holden Scramble since the beginning, currently sponsoring four events in 2012. The dealership loves their golf and play in the event as a social guest team at least once throughout the event season. They continue to be involved with the Scramble because they love seeing teams coming back year after year trying to progress through to the next round and play a round with their Club Professional.

Bay Automotive Group has been involved in the Holden Scramble for 10 years now. Stuart Ward, the current Dealer Principal loves the event as it encourages golfers of all abilities to get out there, have some fun and as you don’t have to be Tiger Woods to win, every team has a chance. As a reward for the winning team, they are provided with a Holden motor vehicle from the dealership, all fuel costs are covered to get them to the Regional Final over 700kms away in Perth.

Ross Gray Holden has been involved with the Holden Scramble since its inception 21 years ago. The dealership sponsors numerous events including Bundaberg and Bargara Holden Scrambles. The dealership is involved on the event day with car displays and always have personnel attend to either help out or play in the Holden Scramble on the day. Ross Gray sponsors Holden Scrambles because of the support they get in return from local PGA Professionals and players who support their business in the community.

Callaghan Motors have been involved in the Holden Scramble since the beginning. The dealership sponsor events at Heywood, East Framlingham, Portland and Warrnambool Golf Clubs. In every Holden Scramble Steve Callaghan (Dealer Principal), Steve Levett (Sales Manager), Steve Ellery (Company Accountant) and a client play as a “Callaghan Motors” team. Callaghan Motors really make their presence known on the day through vehicle displays, flags around the course and personally presenting the trophies to the winners.

Steinborner Holden is a new dealership that opened a year ago in the Barossa Valley. The dealership sponsor Scramble events at Nuriootpa and Tanunda Pines Golf Clubs. On the event day, dealership staff, provide and cook a BBQ for all the players. Daryl Pearce says “The Holden Scramble allows us to engage with local people outside normal business hours and promote our dealership brand.”

Commonwealth Motors have been a long time supporter of the Holden Scramble, sponsoring various events over the past 10 years. In the dealership showroom they set up the promotional material and golf merchandise from the local Club’s Pro shop.
New South Wales – Northside Holden
Sponsored the Northbridge Holden Scramble, 7th March, 2012
Northside Holden began trading on the 3rd January 2012, in their first year of sponsoring the Holden Scramble they are sponsoring both the Men’s and Women’s Holden Scramble events at the Northbridge Golf Club. They are hoping to become involved in another event this year as well. Northside show their involvement on the day with Holden branded balloons, signage, car displays and prizes.

Bunbury Holden has been involved in the Holden Scramble since the beginning and has been sponsoring numerous events for 21 years. The dealership in 2012 will sponsor eight Holden Scramble events in WA. Bunbury Holden gives every participant a Bunbury Holden branded esky bag, as well as providing a BBQ and drinks for the players.
Queensland – Anderson’s Auto City
Sponsored the Miriam Vale Holden Scramble, 18th March, 2012
Anderson’s Auto City sponsor four Holden Scramble events including Miriam Vale, Gladstone, Calliope and Boyne Island/Tannum Sands. The Dealership get involved on event day by providing prizes, a BBQ lunch and gift packs for players. Staff members from the Dealership play on the day as well, and then present prizes to the winning teams.
