McDowell masters Woods' Challenge
Monday, 3 December 2012
Graeme McDowell held off Keegan Bradley on Sunday to win his second World Challenge in three years.
The Northern Irishman picked up the $US 1 million winner's cheque with 17 under overall at Sherwood Country Club to finish three shots clear of Keegan.
It was McDowell's first win since his last triumph at Thousand Oaks two years ago.
Bo Van Pelt finished third at 10 under from tournament host Tiger Woods, who fell back from five shots off the lead to finish eight strokes back.
Woods ended up alongside Jim Furyk and Rickie Fowler at nine under for the tournament.
Crucially, McDowell saved par with a wonderful chip at the 17th and birdied the last hole to make sure of the win.
McDowell won his first World Challenge in 2010 when he defeated Woods in a playoff.
Australian Jason Day struggled for much of the tournament in last place but moves up two spots with a 69 following three plus-70 rounds.
