About the PGA
"Helping more Australians enjoy golf more often."
Australia has a history of major winners and world ranked players, many of whom have become household names. Perhaps more importantly golf is one of Australia’s most popular participant activities played by people of all ages, status and social backgrounds.
Not only is golf a sport, it is a complex industry and a significant contributor to the Australian economy. It spans real estate and resorts, manufacturing and retail, hospitality and course maintenance. In Australia alone golf employs over 23,000 people and generates over $2.7 billion annually.
The PGA and its members are the cornerstone of the sport and the industry. The PGA has played a significant role in the popularity and promotion of the game from televised international events through to the local club or driving range where the PGA members introduce and service the 1.2 million golfers who play the game each year.
